GC Services - Debt Collection Review from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
I'm a 54 yr old mother of 4, and got a thin single page letter out of the blue the day before my father's funeral in Jan. 2016, saying at the I owed $196,000 in student loan debt!!
I about fell off my chair! I had had ok credit the past several years. I put myself through 3 degrees and worked several jobs, and had a few smaller loans, that I thought had been paid off. I haven't been in college in over 30 years.
And have received nothing else about any student loan debts in many years. I've also gotten a couple of calls a week, asking for me by name, and wanting to verify my address, but I've told them I don't feel comfortable talking to someone when I don't know who they are. Has anyone else gotten such erroneous bills from this agency? I've been so grief stricken by my father's death less than a month ago, I haven't had the emotional energy to look into this 'company'.
My insurance agent said it's probably a scam.
Any info about this company, and if they can inflate a small debt into the cost of a house, would help this sad mom sleep at night. Talk about anxiety on top of grief.
Reason of review: Problems with payment.
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Call the department of ED and they can tell you where you loan is and that is all.
No, do not believe the other comment. They are one of those annoying companies that have no specific purpose, and call to try and get information.
I'm 18 and a freshman in college, and they have been non stop calling me. I havent taken any loans for school.
Definitely call them its a collection agency they have your student loan and it will continue to grow the longer you take to resolve the account especially if its collecting interest. Good luck
