Yeah, thats right, I'm a GC employee... But i swear I'm not a mean person. Swear.

Okay, so I read a bunch of the complaints on this site and I yes, I work with a couple of people who were named in the complaints. I feel like I should say something... Since this is about what I do for a living...

First off, I understand that sometimes people get into tough situations and are unable to pay their bills... It happens... For everyone who has complained on this site, some of you have legit things to be pissed about. People breaking FDCPA laws, yes, be pissed. People breaking "no call" letters, yes, be pissed. I do not fault you for that... I would be pissed if someone called when I sent them a letter telling them to stop... But here's the thing, you cant get too pissed at someone for doing their jobs... Calling you all the time - legal - depending on your state - calling you at work - legal... Look, we have a very stressful job and trust me, I dont want to call you any more than you want me to call...

Most of the people who work for GC are GOOD PEOPLE with GOOD INTENTIONS! I know because I'm one of them! But there are a few people who do push too hard or can be a bid hard to talk to... The best thing to do when dealing with a person in any collection agency, not just GC is to #1)just TALK TO THEM! We call a lot less when we know that we can get in contact with you and we know your not hiding! #2)set up arangments to pay back the debt - collect activity will stop as soon as you do that. Its very easy to make the phone calls stop... Just show GC that you WANT to pay your bills! #3)If you get someone on the phone who is being rude to you, dont yell at them... trust me, its better to suck it up and request to be transfered to a manager than to *** someone off who has your credit in their hands... Be calm and level headed when talking to them and conduct yourself in a professional way. Stay away from cursing or raising your voice... It gets nowhere...

That was for people who have legit debts (not fraud acnts or wrong # complaints) and who are really TRYING to take care of their responsibilities.

The way I see it, there is nothing that anyone can do to change the way that collections is, and no, we are not customer service... If your a *** on the phone then yes, collections sucks... But if you work with your rep, it dosent have to be THAT bad... I have several of my debtors who thank me on a regular basis for working with them... For the most part, people at GC arent that bad, I would say for every 1 bad rep there are 20 good ones. Dont think that were all the same... We try to help... Or at least I do...

I dont know... If anyone would like help in dealing with your specific problem with GC, I would be more than happy to try to give you some advice on how to handle a rep just respond to this and I'll give you my email info.

I have a better idea. When they give you the number and their extension, start calling them back OVER AND OVER AND OVER again.

Just ask them how their day is or what the weather is like in their area. They will become soooo pissed because you're taking up their time that they will eventually give you to their manager.

It really turns the tides and it's A LOT OF FUN!!!. Don't get angry, get even.

I'm trying to help my son get his license back. He told me that he already agreed on a payment plan and then couldn't afford to finish paying.

How do we get that started back up and i heard that you guys would drop some of your dues if he offered to pay a lump sum.

He said he's not sure what he owes but he has two traffic tickets. How can you help

Call and speak to a supervisor at GC Services. Each account is handled differently for several reasons so its best to contact them directly. They may need to have verbal permission from your son over the phone to legally speak to you about it, however.

I work with a caseload of 244 clients who have matters that are in the hands of GC services. I am a professional and honestly, I have found it very difficult to work with GC services.

And I am not one of those rude pissed off customers. I am an advocate for people who have trouble understanding the complexities of the court and collections systems and have no success getting assistance or explanations from staff members at GC services.

I honestly, have not ever found a helpful employee at GC services...maybe I just never got lucky enough to find you. I appreciate your post and I would love to have your contact information so that I can touch base with you and maybe bridge some of those gaps that currently exist between your agency and the folks out here who are forced to utilize it.

Please tell me who to speak with at GC Services about clearing my DMV record for a paid in full ticket. I paid the ticket one year and a half ago.

GC services has confirmed this several times but HAS NOT notified the court. The ticket is still on my DMV record. GC services got paid but then did nothing to clear my ticket. Can you please tell me my recourse at this point?

Do I need to go to court and have them call GC services. GC should have done this 18 months ago!

:) GC DOES NOT OWE THE DEBT SO GO THE DMV AND THEY SHOULD HAVE YOUR PAYMENTS SHOWING THAT U ARE PAID IN FULL UNLESS YOU HAVE SOMETHING ELSE PENDING IN THAT MATTER.

I HOPE THIS HELPS A LITTLE

THX :)

So here's a question for all you "good people" and ex-employees, I'd love an answer. I'm TRYING to pay off 3 court traffic fines (SOLELY REGISTRATION NOT DUI, reckless driving, not even speeding) It has raised from $900 to over $3000 My license has been suspended and I can't work because of it.

I have a good friend who is trying to help me out but only has at max $1650. I have three kids and am on TANF because of this and I always get transferred to the same guy who says he can't do anything for me. Is this TRUE? Don't you have the ability to settle on behalf of the courts?

Isn't some better than none?

I'm just trying to get back on my feet and I could really use a good person right now. Thanks for your time.

Ok....GC stresses quality as much as collecting the money at this point in January. One of my co-workers has no experience and shows this everyday.

I guess management was absolutely desperate. I consistently perform in the top collectors. GC tries to adher to FDCPA regulations and when these regulations are done incorrectly believe me this is addressed.

I also have seen specific collectors get away with more then the other hard working collectors. I am not saying that all or even the majority performs well but we try to be ethical and as compassionate as possible.

Currently an employee at GC Services, I do agree its a very stressful job. But then again all collection jobs are stressful, trust I worked at 3 different ones.

Any job that has to do with collections, inbound or outbound it gets under your skin. Im glad its all over the phone, because I swear if most of these customers were in front of my face they would get knocked the *** out!

I say just be greatful you have a job period... if you dont like it then leave and someone will be happy to take your place!!

It is okay to contact a neighbor in MOST states, but you MUST NOT disclose any information with the neighbor. That is 3rd Party Disclosure and is illegal.

GC posted a fraudelent debt on my credit report. When I called and told them they refused to remove because it wasn't in the system.

they were very rude hung up on me twice. and refused to give name of superior.

finally said superior would call me back. never happened.

In most states it is NOT ok to call a a person at work with regards to a debt. Best thing to do is to read the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act as well as your state's Fair Debt Collection Practices act.

All of which are available on the web. Don't stand for unfair practices!

So the above comment from "smarter then you". That was hilarious.

Its definitely true. People need to understand that business is business, when collectors call, they just want whats owed. nothing more, nothing less. For some reason people feel that's a crazy idea for somebody to want their money back.

I guess people feel its a business and they have money. However in most cases especially when its loans involved, that means there investors involved. Therefor the company needs their money so they can pay their bills too. Banks, mortgage companies collection agencies, many of them still have to pay interest on the money they let you borrow whether the debtor pays or not.

The best way to handle collections is to write a letter. A professional one that's not written on the back of napkin. Ive been in collections for over 5 years. And I've seen and heard it all.

The people who deiced to be irate on the phone are the people that us collectors just gets a good laugh at and keep moving. At the point we don't care what you need cause you don't even know how to call with a professional matter.

The people who sends a letter on a post it, Please tell me, how can one take you seriously. Debtors get it together before you start complaining

I just quit GC services. I was a really mean collector and I apologize to you all.

Working for GC services is the hardest job I have ever had, dealing with poor managers who get paid about $13-$15/hr and Treat collectors like they are dirt. GC services do not to hire people with experience, so they can mold you into one of them. (People with experience brings new ideas, that they rather not deal with) We are trained to think MONEY on every call... (Even if itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs lying to the defendant-examples: putting them in JAIL) GC services do not train employees properly, for the FDCPA test I was given all the answers by the trainee.

Once you pass the test, they put you on the collection floor with your รขโ‚ฌล“managerรขโ‚ฌย who previously worked as a supervisor at your local Forever 21 store at the mall, a go-go dancer by night, a drug dealer, a ***...need I say more?-Cindy Portillo, Marlon Shell is two of the big reasons why I've had enough and quit! This is a company where you are micromanaged and treated like a robot. ----You try dealing with being tormented on a daily basis....If you do not make money---youรขโ‚ฌโ„ขre fired!

You must hit your budget on a daily basis, stressing to have defendants pay, not reasoning with them. There is a reason why we are mean...WE ARE STRESSED!!!

Lots of angry people here, haha. Anyhow, I just had an honest question and seeking an honest answer pertaining to GC Services.

I totally forgot about 2 traffic tickets I was cited for last year. It snowballed and now totals $1800 with GC Services. The business I was working for, finally filed for bankruptcy and went under about 3 months ago. Needless to say, we(all employees) were left jobless.

I filed and was approved for EDD checks, but am experiencing a lot of inconsistency with receiving a check every 2 weeks. Twice now, they've failed to send me a check and I had to call to resolve any "issues" that appeared more like fumbling on their part. It's worse enough that the checks barely cut it for rent, bills, etc.., so I've been selling a lot of my personal belongings on Ebay. About a week ago, I received a letter from the DMV that stated my license was suspended due to failure to pay collections(GC Services).

Between scraping between every nook and cranny in southern California for a job, the EDD's inconsistency that results in huge late fees and life(we all know the extra stresses that come with it, haha), I honest and truly forgot about the money I owed GC Services. I never got anything in the mail for months and I imagine that they probably attempted calling my cell phone, but that was cut off due to my situation. Basically, my question is: is there ANYTHING they GC Services could do for me to get my license back? I have 2 nieces that I pick up EVERYDAY from their schools.

I look for jobs literally every single day and some have responded with setting me up on interviews. I need to drive to the grocery store for obvious reasons. So my license is very very very important to me. I'm just in an extremely messed up circumstance right now.

Would GC Services be willing to help in any way? Is there anything I can do? Please help. Considering I sought help by this method, shows just how desperate I've become for answers.

Please refrain from bashing me. If these questions come across as *** to anyone, please excuse me for my ignorance.

I was just on the internet searching for any honest answers or help. That's all.
